The Court room can be a frightening place, what with the seven justices staring down at you and asking opposing questions, it is especially scary for two freshman. But one pair of attorneys seems almost in their element among the fuchsia chairs, uber-soft deep blue carpet, and sky-blue lighted ceiling. Forrest Reinhart and Anna Reid make up this cool, confident (sometimes) duo. I say sometimes because when asked if they have felt lost or overwhelmed Anna answered yes, and added “and scared and disoriented” with a laugh. Forrest simply, and jokingly, said, “Huh?”. But both have researched their case extensively and are doing well so far.
They both agree with their case, but concede that they might be biased. They are debating the case about the Solitudes vs. the Hunters, for the side against the use of the road on the Solitudes’ land. They chose to be attorneys because Forrest didn’t want to be in the 1st year house—and thus a page— and Anna thought she’d be good at it. Anna prefers the justices’ seats, but Forrest disagrees. But they are together in that both are much better than the Senate or House chairs, “because they’re pink.”
They both like being judges more since there’s less work and they get to wear the robes. They thought other uses for the robes could be dance parties, Batman impostors, a Lady Gaga costume, going to Hogwarts, going for a Montana morning jog, and many more! Anna said she could improve the robes by making them “shoot sparks and light up” and Forrest would add sequins if he could.
Forrest is abound with random, weird talents. The strange skills he could think of were juggling, standing on his head, doing the wave with his eyebrows, and moving his eyes independently. Anna can stand on her head, too, she added. Anna is running for Chief Justice, and when asked where the slogan “The Ginger Chuck Norris” came from, she chuckled and admitted, “Not from me. I don’t even remember
where it came from!”
Can you picture these two as lawyers in ten years? Maybe, you never know. But for now, keep an eye out for them in future sessions of Youth in Government. They might just take this place by storm.
