5 SILLIEST BILLS

We see them every year, they make us giggle and we refer others to read them,
they’re the Silly Bills that no one takes seriously but are always fun to argue.
Here are fi ve silly Bills we’ve found entertaining in the Bill Book.

1. Bill 150 Pg. 113- “Banning
Dihydrogen Monoxide from the State of Montana”

If you have taken or are currently enrolled in chemistry then you should know that dihydrogen monoxide is H2O which is water. This bill declares that water be banned from the State of Montana and that any possession, distribution, or use of water be a felony.

2. Bill 207 Pg. 133 – “Helping theHobos”

How can we help those less fortunate more than handing them crossbows? In Bill 207 “Helping the Hobos” it is suggested that each “Hobo” (“A person that has a yearly revenue less than $50 and does not own a home or vehicle”) own their crossbow to help hunt stray cats and dogs for food and clothing. Also within the bill each convenient store will be provided with a 10 gauge shotgun with 20 or more shells also known as a “Street Sweeper” to ward off “hobos.” Bill 207 will take effect by June 17 at 9:34 am.

3. Bill 208 Pg. 134 - “It’s Natural to Be Naked”

This bill requires Montana citizens to participate in a “Statewide Nakey Day.” If passed, each Montana citizen will strip themselves of all garments; if refused to participate that individual will be stripped down and thrown into prison. Bill 208 will be put into effect August 22, 2010 if passed.

4. Bill 221 Pg. 148 –
“Fining the ‘Preps’…”
Tyler DeGraaf Gardiner
Bill 221 will charge a fine of $50 to individuals wearing brand names such as Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, Ed Hardy, Tap Out, American Eagle, and Hollister if can not prove legal residence in California. Also a 5% sales tax will be assessed in stores Old Navy and Buckle. The agency assessing these fi nes will be known as the Fashion Police.

5. Bill 278 Pg. 209- “Snuggies Are Just Robes Turned Backwards” Ciarra Dauenhauer Butte High School This bill outlaws the use of snuggies in all public and private venues. If an individual is caught wearing a snuggie that person will be charged a $5,000 fine and given 3 oversized blankets and a robe.
